♪ Recording for「RESISTANCE」
Q1. What were your impressions when you first listened to the instrumental version and read the lyrics?
When I received the demo to check the pitch key, I initially thought it would be a piece of cake with a key right up my range. But then I listened to the prototype that the band had recorded, and… I very clearly remember being frightened by the sudden jump in difficulty (laughs).
Even with practice, referencing the materials they gave me, that song proved to be more technical to sing than I had imagined upon my first few listening.
Q2. What was it like in the recording booth? Tell us what you were the most conscious about, and what we should look forward to.
I paid keen attention to preserve the balance between the bluntness of the lyrics and the stress I should employ on some of the words, to uphold a constant power throughout the song.
I usually try to find the sweet spot to make the song sound cool and more appealing, but I feel like the lyrics spoke for themselves this time around. I wonder if Akane squeezed as much imagery as he could precisely to illustrate its very message and overall theme.
