(1)　言霊 (lit. “word spirit/soul”) or Kotodama is the spiritual power attributed to the Japanese language, a central concept in Japanese mythology and Shintoism. It is believed that words uttered bear some effect on real life events and objects, each varying based on their usage.

While most prefer to leave the original transcription, as it is so ingrained within the culture and hard to translate, I have decided to use “mantras” for ease of reading.

(2)　無残 (lit. “cruel, pitiful”, muzan), here translated as “miserably”, also bears the meaning of “to break a religious precept without shame”. In Buddhism, religion from which the term stems, it understates one’s lack of conscience and shame when confronted with any misconduct. (read more)

　Since this song bears a lot of references to multiple religions and precepts (which I tried my best to convey through imagery), I assumed this to be necessary to understand the double-entendre.
